Privacy and safety
What the Boat keeps, who sees it, and the lines it never crosses. The short version is that it drafts, you send, and your server's data stays in your server.
What the Boat never does
- It never reads your server. It sees only the commands you type to it: not your channels, not your DMs, not anyone’s messages.
- It never sends anything for you. No emails, no DMs, no applications. It drafts; you send.
- It never shares your data with another server, and we never sell it or use it for ads.
- It never takes orders from job postings or web pages. It reads them as text, never as instructions, and since it can’t send anything, a trick hidden in one has nowhere to go.
- It never invents experience on a tailored resume. Anything it isn’t sure about is flagged for you to check.
What it keeps
| What | Why | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| Your profile (target roles, niche, experience, deal-breakers) | To search and score jobs for you | Only you, in Discord |
| Your master resume | To tailor it for jobs | Only you |
| Your leads | So /leads and /log can refer to them |
Everyone in the server (the digest is posted in the channel) |
| The steps you log | Points, streaks and the recap | Everyone in the server |
| Your reminder setting, and when you last used the Boat | Daily reminders | Only you see the setting; the tag is public |
| What each command cost | Credits | Everyone in the server (/costs) |
Who does the work
To do its job, the Boat sends the text a command needs to AI services that run the models. For example, /tailor sends your resume and the job description. Searches go to job-board search services. These are processors working for us, and we send them only the text the task needs.
How it’s protected
- Encrypted in transit. Everything between Discord, the Boat and the services it uses travels over HTTPS.
- Kept apart by server. Once the hosted Boat is live, a command will only read its own server’s records. One server will never see another’s profiles, resumes, leads or logs.
- Keys stay on our servers. The keys the Boat uses are never in its code or in Discord.
- Minimal by design. It keeps what the features need, and nothing else: no contact lists, no browsing history, no messages.
Your choices
- Private replies: your profile, resume and tailored resumes are shown only to you.
- Public steps: anything you
/logis visible to everyone in the server. That’s the point, but log only what you’re happy to share. - Reminders are opt-in. Turn yours off any time with
/remind off. - Deleting your data: email fishin-dev@proton.me and we’ll delete it.
The fine print
Today’s privacy policy covers this website and the waitlist. The Boat will have its own, fuller policy, published before launch. It will name the kinds of services we use to process data, as this page does.
